Add fuel stabilizer to the remaining fuel and run the engine for 5 minutes to circulate it. Then either run the engine dry or leave the stabilized fuel for next season.
Change the oil while the engine is warm.
Remove and inspect the spark plug. Clean or replace it.
Inspect the auger belt (two-stage blowers) for cracks or wear. Replace if questionable.
Check the shear pins — replace any that are bent or partially broken.
Grease the auger shaft and impeller shaft fittings (two-stage blowers). Check your manual for locations.
Inspect skid shoes and scraper bar for wear. Replace if worn thin.
Spray the auger housing and chute interior with silicone spray to prevent rust and help snow slide through more easily next winter.
Wipe down the machine and touch up any paint chips.
Store in a dry location. Cover to keep dust off. Don't store near furnaces, water heaters, or other ignition sources.
